Review of Woodstock (1970) by Michael G — 07 Jul 2012
Every concert movie that has followed since should be ashamed of itself. Very few of them try to make it about as much as the people and the place and polotics and time as this one did. Rattle & Hum can kiss my ass.
Additionally: Like most director's cuts a wee bit something is lost. The segment with Janis Joplin just slows it down and the added Hendrix is a bit of overkill, balance-wise. But don't let that stop you from seeing the greatest documentry ever, whatever the length.
