A wonderful and deeply effective documentary on the life and career of Fred Rogers. The film is truly remarkable because it is not only educational and biographical but also heartfelt and genuinely interesting.
It depicts its subject with an equal balance in the light of his revered disposition, successes, talent, and influence as well as in the darkness of the controversies, criticisms, parodies, and allegations against him.
The film holds him accountable for his fears, traumas, struggles, and insecurities as it does his beliefs, ideas, morals, and charity. The film is patient, detailed, and thoroughly heart-warming in its study with an approach accentuating the notion that we all have legacies connected to that of Rogers because we all have the ability to love.
This is a respectful and moving tribute for those who have watched Mr. Rogers, and for those who haven't, including myself, this spectacularly insightful and powerful film will make you feel like you always have.
