Review of Won't You Be My Neighbor? (2018) by Johann S — 06 Jul 2018
The MPAA really screwed up on this one. A movie about a man who dedicated his life to helping kids feel better & just being a decent person in general got a PG-13 movie.
This documentary isn't thrilling, it isn't terribly exciting, but it's wholesome through & through and through humor it is entertaining as well.
That said, given the current political climate it has to be admittedly a condemnation of the current state of the GOP as well. That isn't the movie's focus, or desire, or even Fred Roger's desire - rather his is simply a message about caring about each other.
Mr. Rogers, while you may have been a life long Republican, you would no longer have any political party today.
Worth seeing and remembering.
