Review of Wonderland (2003) by Daniel K — 21 Apr 2011
1: I suppose this would be a fascinating film for those individuals that lived through the era and were exposed to what I'm guessing would have been the onslaught of media coverage, but for me I couldn't help but think so what? There's not really anything original about the picture or particularly unique about the events, except for John Holmes' involvement.
It provides us with numerous interpretations of the same events, much like Rashomon did a half century earlier, but comparing it to a film like this makes me shudder. There are so many other films that do this so much more effectively it's laughable.
The film just seems sleazy, haphazard, poorly constructed, and unimportant.
