Review of Wonder Woman (2017) by Christopher C — 09 Jun 2017
I was skeptical, basically because of Warner Bros, and in this climate, I worried it would just be an obnoxious film. But it was balanced and smart (for a superhero film) and fun and had well played supporting characters.
Even the main protagonist was really cool (I wish for once they would make a superhero film where they keep the cool protagonists as part of an ongoing story). Wonder Woman also now has the best theme music for any superhero.
My one issue with it is that Gal Gadot doesn't have the musculature for the part. The other Amazons are built and athletic. They look like UFC fighters, or professional athletes. They look like power.
A few shots show Gadot's physique, but for the most part she looks like she's about to go down the runway. I would just expect Wonder Woman to look more powerful, at least as strong as her other Amazons.
Other than that, really enjoyed it.
