The movie reminded me that kids in can be so cruel as it is, but when you introduce a child with facial deformity, kids are crueler. The movie was heartwarming, touching, and mostly formulaic and predictable, but still a worthwhile story to tell, with Julia Roberts as mom (bad cop) and Owen Wilson as cool dad (good cop). The star of the movie is Jacob Tremblay, who plays Auggie, the young boy with Treacher Collins Syndrome.
In a few scenes the actions did not yield the expected consequence and one scene seemed to be slapped on as an afterthough to heighten the emotional punch of the film, but overall, I enjoyed the movie and recommend it.
