Review of Wonder (2017) by Kjell B — 09 Dec 2017
"Wonder" is an insanely good movie which hits extremely close to home. Not in a way that every family has a facial deformed child, but the circle of jealousy, guilt and sadness feel extremely realistic.
The different perspectives in which the story is told do not seem to confuse at all, they only seem to amazingly contribute to the plot and its message. Jacob Tremblay (remember that name) sets off an amazing perfomance as the young facial-deformed August (Auggie).
His performance, together with the rest of the cast (who also do not disappoint a second) is inspiring and moving. "Wonder" hits you with laughter, joy, sadness and anger at the exact right spot throughout the movie, and it does so while you are speechless of how realistic it is.
