Review of Womb (2010) by Shaun M — 18 Oct 2010
Only at the London Film Festival would you see films covering such a wide variety of strange subjects. Last nights was no exception, Womb covers cloning and incest!
Appealed to the geeky side of me, my second film in the Festival about cloning and starring Matt "Dr Who" Smith, pretty great for the film distributors, he filmed this before he became the country's most famous actor - so I'm sure that'll help push it a bit!
A few other well known British actors featured as well - Eva Green ANDDDDDDDDDDDD Cassie from Skins! HA HA!
Erm, yeah so the film! I quite liked bits at the beginning, introducting Tommy and Rebecca as kids and showing how their relationshp developed, as soon as he got killed it all got a bit strange though. I can see the idea behind it - an impossible love, losing a soul mate and wanting them back so badly ...but you can't get away from the fact that watching Tommy get it on with his "Mum" is pretty uncomfortable to watch. It didn't really create much emotion in me either, usually it's so easy to make me cry but I didn't feel anything which was a shame!
