Review of Woman Thou Art Loosed (2004) by Trev B — 15 Jul 2009
This film by T.D. Jakes though it had good intentions and some very good performances, came off more as a docudrama in how it was presented than it did a dramatic movie and missed the mark in what it was trying to achieve in my opinion.
It was about a young woman who had been molested by her indifferent mother's boyfriend as a child and ended up in a life of crime. Bishop Jakes plays himself counseling her. Not sure it came with any real answers but it's about forgiveness and pain and overcoming.
The performances keeps this at a 3 for me.
