Review of Wolfen (1981) by Paul Z — 14 Oct 2012
Michael Wadleigh directed two films and never worked again. But I would've liked him to, because with Wolfen, which was one of at least three wolf pictures to come out in 1981, he entrusts an acute otherworldly atmosphere to New York City that I can't recall ever seeing on screen before, from the Battery to the Bronx and the top of the Brooklyn Bridge looking down, you feel the ghosts possessing this ancient land.
You'll understand when you see the movie.
