My username says it all. Read my always Wolf Creek and always in-progress RT blog pages.For the 5 year anniversary of my favorite, all time, end of story- movie,I chose to join RT for 1 reason-to explain why almost everyone HATES it,OR "likes" it for the wrong reasons.

Then,I'll explore what it does for me and for its intended ExGeneration X adult male-only audience. Read my blogs,join my own new group "Torture Horror", but remember I already have a clear outline of chronology to convey with a "WC defense rests" payoff that will invite a free debate on merits of this movie.

Arguing now would just distract my effort at a concise history of how Torture Porn is finally and thankfully sounding the direct-to-video funeral dirge for undeservedly popular CRAP like Halloween/Elm St.

/Friday 13th/Aliens. In effect,WC and others are an end to the appeal of Mass-Appeal Horror.Wolf Creek is not the first (LHOTL/Salo/I Spit)but by being the most well-made(be honest,its NOT the scenery that sells this movie)it is so far the most influential (believably naturalistic)"Horrific Anti-Horror Movie".

Until Wolf Creek,a Sadistic Movie splinter fan base who had loved Cape Fear/Clockwork Orange/LHOTL 72 and wanted a flashier yet feared and dreadful paradigm of a genre that has no "gore" effects but a undeniably erotic feeling and a politically agitating antifeminist sensibility resounding with increasingly emasculated men all over the world becoming "fanboys" of Saw/LHOTL Remake (much more uncomfortable for characters and uptight audiences than hippies vs.

Greasers of 1972),feeling stifled by "Equality" and forcefully mandated "Tolerance" have long awaited,and that latent desire in 2005 was given an irresitable force of VERY unavoidable fire-arms not Saw-gizmos or farm tools,unavenged-at-end Croc Dundee bad taste jokes,no sequels to offer any catharsis or viewer faith in mankind.

THEN add the REALITY basis of killer Ivan Melat and a couple AUS $million to usher in a wonderful and horrible-okay,no more "Spoilers"! YET! My username-specific blogs will debunk "merits" of nearly every popular Horror film made since the boring,plotless Halloween original contrasting with the excellent,but zeitgeist-irrelevant Night Of Living Dead original.
