Review of Wolf Creek (2005) by Phillip G — 24 Aug 2008
An obvious attempt to bring 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' to Australia based on a number of different incidents but certainly not based on any single case, this thorny, nasty little film succeeds in turning the Aussie outback into a place of quiet unease and terror but is hampered by the usual flaws of the slasher genre - a suspension of disbelief (which is definently necessary in the case of this film) as well as an ability to not yell angrily at the screen every time a victim does something enormously stupid.
