Review of Wolf Creek (2005) by Alex M — 26 Nov 2009
Great - Its not as if Australians and hicks didn't scare me enough separately, they had to make a movie which explored a combination of those population groups - Awesome!
I suppose it was a decent horror movie, very Saw / Hostel / Wrong Turn / The Hills Have Eyes/ Deliverance / Texas Chainsaw Massacre...The concept is great, but it has been overdone, and it has definately been done better than this movie did it (and with a whole lot less irritating accents ;)...
It needed to get going quicker, the characters were pretty dull (as was their creepy pseudo love triangle), and they only became interesting when the Aus hick started offing them, but when it got going there was some ok gore (that also could have been upped a notch or 2)...
All in all, it seems that Aussies are better at letting dingoes eat their babies, and stealing talented S'africans than making horror movies (oh, and playing rugby ;).
