Review of Wolf Creek (2005) by Ryan G — 22 Jan 2013
Wondering whether my rental habits get flagged after watching Never Been Kissed before this? In a word, Wolf Creek is... overrated. The idea that there is some truth in the NT backpacker murders and Ivan Milat, is no substitute for a complete lack of character development and plot.
In many ways it feels like one of the later Saw films out of the franchise, where the genius of suspense and horror have been substituted for explotitative, gross out violence. Horror films work best when the violence serves a higher purpose of suspense and intrigue, which Wolf Creek sadly lacks.
