Review of Wolf Creek 2 (2013) by Chuckie S — 31 May 2014
Wolf Creek was a smart, inventive, and thrilling horror film from Australia. Very reminiscent of the original 1974 version of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The sequel has none of those qualities. The film offers nothing new or fresh to the slasher genre.
I got bored fast with all the predictable clichés. Sad cause I thought Mick Taylor was a very interesting addition to the psychopath serial killer family. The film does offer some interesting death scenes, with a high use of gore.
The cinematography was very beautiful, especially the aerial views of the Australian outback, however neither of these things were enough to keep my interest in the film. Glad this didn't get a theatrical release in the states.
