Billy Wilder is one of the greatest movie makers ever. He did terrific comedies (some like it hot) and made, for example, terrific detective (sortof) movies such as this one. the plot is intricate but clear, full of twists and suspance.
Charles Laughton is greater than life and amkes the movie so much more enjoyable.
