Review of Witness for the Prosecution (1957) by April V — 12 Dec 2012
Absolutely brilliant. When he wasn't directing Marilyn Monroe puff pieces, Billy Wilder was making great films. (Though I admit a certain guilty enjoyment of "Some Like It Hot") This might be one of his greatest films.
Even with some of the hilarious melodramatic acting, it is probably the second greatest courtroom drama I've seen after "12 Angry Men" Charles Laughten and Marlene Dietrich stole the film.
I recommend it to everyone.
