Review of Witness (1985) by Daniel A — 06 Oct 2011
Tense corrupt-cop thriller with a difference, that creeps up on you as it unfolds and leaves a lasting impression. Harrison Ford gives what is widely regarded as the best performance of his career, heading a talented cast that includes Danny Glover, Kelly McGillis and a young Viggo Mortensen.
The ever-reliable David Weir directs with clarity and forges a successful marriage between the mysterious and romantic plotlines. Of course he is helped greatly by the film's sharp and insightful screenplay and some very impressive cinematography, making Witness a multi-layered hit.
