Review of Withnail & I (1987) by Tommy H — 21 Apr 2008
Whilst this was very funny (I'm not drunk offisher I've onlee had a few ales) I didn't like it particularly as it was a bit too haphazard. The story is relegated to the floor and everything happens just for the purpose of comedy.
While there is nothing particularly wrong with a film doing this, I didn't really enjoy it in this film. The whole gay thing was just a bit too disturbing as well. Apart from this, it is a very entertaining film and I must say - Richard E Grant's soliloquy at the end is brilliant.
