Review of Withnail & I (1987) by Paul D — 15 May 2010
Oh, maybe I'm missing something. The DVD I watched had no subtitles (in fact the whole film was a single chapter!), so I may have missed some of the subtleties of dialogue. Certainly it's a reasonable film, but I don't feel phrases like "A must watch" about to slip out.
Heck - go pick up the DVD and see what you think. Just wouldn't want you to go in expecting too much. Maybe it was in some way groundbreaking when it was first released or something, but to my fresh eyes it seemed just sort-of-okay!
