Review of Wit (2001) by Carol Y — 29 Apr 2015
Wit gives us insight into the hospital world and the ethical decisions that revolve around in decision making by health professionals. Emma Thompson does a good job at creating fear and sorrow. She is a patient with later stage ovarian cancer.
The hospital offers her a new medical treatment that is promising. Little does she know that it is untested and the physicians have a different agenda. They are in it for the research. The film is sad and creates a fear of health care in a way.
The fault is that it doesn't progress forward but sits in limbo for a while.
