Sure, the performances are genuine, but the movie is ultimately unremarkable. This was a 2010 Best Picture nominee; it is different than a junk action or romance blockbuster, and I understand that that simple fact alone makes a movie one of the best pictures of the year, but the nomination is otherwise unfounded.
