Review of Winter's Bone (2010) by Emma V — 03 Feb 2013
Really wish I had seen this at the pictures. And that I'd seen it before I read the book. The film adaptation is very true to the book. There are some grim, shocking moments in the book but having read it before seeing the film took some of the impact away.
The film has a stark beauty despite the grim awfulness of the setting. JL makes a great Ree, implacable but understated.
