Review of Winter's Bone (2010) by Paul K — 24 Apr 2014
I've been putting off watching this one for months, knowing that it would be painful. It was, but it's worth it. It's thoroughly believable, well-scripted acted and filmed, with only the occasional soulful still shot that didn't work for me.
The story says poverty US style - surrounded by cars and trucks, with toys and clothes, but short of food. The narrative is nicely random in places; we struggled to understand the dialogue here and there too.
Nonetheless a good 'un.
