Review of Winter Light (1963) by Stefania M — 04 Oct 2008
Bare, minimalist, direct and explicit. Nattvardsgasterna is the movie where Ingmar Bergman discloses, completely, his religiousness. The director is Tomas, no doubt about it. By this movie, Bergman tries to reach The Answer - according to me, failing.
Simple representation and complex subject. Everything seems so authentic in Nattvardsgasterna. Above all the Bergman's aim.
