Review of Winnie the Pooh (2011) by Ezra C — 27 Aug 2011
Just when you say "They just don't make them like they used to", then comes the new "Winnie The Pooh" film. Forget all the other Pooh movies released, the 2011 'revival' is directly in the spirit of "The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh", unarguably the best of them all, even if it was an anthology of sorts. The storybook form, the old fashioned animated style, and the simplicity of it all just makes it a perfect sequel of sorts. Although some differences like a few voices, a completely restylized Christopher Robin, and the songs sung by Zooey Deschanel (which is absolutely perfect!), Winnie The Pooh fans new and old will definitely love this one. The biggest disappointment? It's 60 minutes long including credits! And there were deleted scenes! Way Way too short after all these years....
And by the way, why didn't Owl just FLY out of the pit? None of the characters seemed to question that...
