Review of Winnie the Pooh (2011) by James T — 04 Oct 2011
If you watched Winnie the Pooh as a child you'll find little has changed; whether that is a good or bad thing depends on the viewer. I really love the simple, innocent story telling that plays up the specific character types that live in the hundred acre wood.
The gang have done very little to update with the times, or connect with older viewers, but I'm alright with that. This is a kids movie through and through and thankfully does not try to shamelessly broaden its viewer demographic.
Pooh makes no popular culture references, and Eeyore steers clear of anti depressants humor. The classic characters have stayed true to their original spirit and I love them for it.
