Review of Winnie the Pooh (2011) by Jason K — 14 Apr 2013
A heartfelt thank you to Disney for capturing everything that is good and sweet about Winnie the Pooh. Graciously, the team behind the Winnie reboot chose to embrace the old-fashioned charm of the source material, and eschew all the benchmarks of awful live action remakes like Yogi Bear and The Flintstones.
Casting is perfect, from John Cleese's restrained narrator to Craig Ferguson's insufferable owl, from Bud Luckey's morose Eeyore to Jim Cumming's perfect turn as both Pooh and Tigger.
There's not a single scene of this film that doesn't belong, and it's truly an ageless classic that has appeal for all ages.
If ever a children's movie deserved applause, Pooh is it.
