Review of Wings of Desire (1987) by Grégoire M — 05 Jul 2008
My favorite movie of all time!! the most poetic film ever made. every scene, every shot, every thought and conversation in it has an unsurpassed beauty.. Berlin, as unpoetic as it may seem to most, is the perfect setting for this story, as it was (or maybe still is) a scarred city in need of the love of the angels, though still having beautiful warm, somewhat disturbing but comforting places for it's many equally scarred inhabitants the film displays.. beauty also lies in less attractive/comfortable things, you just have to want to see it.
My fav scenes: the library scene and Marion's 'Liebeserklärung'.
A must-watch!
