Review of Wings of Desire (1987) by Michael D — 02 May 2012
The crumbling streets of Berlin form the beautiful backdrop for this haunting love poem to that city and life itself. It's got Peter Falk as himself, arguably his finest role, Bruno Ganz before he was Hitler and the incredible Solveig Dommartin as the unforgettable trapeze artist.
Oh, and it's also got Nick Cave and as I have said before - if Nick Cave is in a film it is guaranteed to be brilliant. One of the best films of the 80s hands down.
