Review of Wine for the Confused (2004) by Wendy N — 10 Jan 2009
Good film for wine novices or those wanting to learn a little more. Cleese makes visits to a few wineries in the Santa Barbara area and talks to some of the winemakers about their wine and tries various types of wine.
Interesting conversations and insights. Basically, the entire thing comes down to, drink what you like, not what other people think is good, but be open to new things. I enjoyed the film, expecially the added conversations in the extra features.
Cleese was funny, and while Brendan Fraser is included in the case, his presence is pretty minor, the high point being when he recites his tasting notes on a certain wine as being "put it back in the horse".
