Review of Wind River (2017) by Cheryl L — 13 Sep 2017
Another great performance from Jeremy Renner, he is authentic and moving in this role. The cinematography in the film is mostly good. There are a few "shaky cam" scenes that serve no purpose, save distraction, but overall there a lot of beautiful shots and well done visuals.
The story is tear jerking in the best way and tells an interesting new take on Indian reservations in America. The film breaths fresh air into the idea and borrows ideas from other greater films, primarily Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, to elevate itself.
Only minor details detract the fifth star from this film, such as the "shaky cam" scenes, some botched dubbed lines, and small failures of my suspension of disbelief.
