Review of Wind River (2017) by Kevin M. W — 17 Oct 2017
The body of a young Native American woman is found out in the snowy reaches of Wyoming and the following investigation is the gist of this film. Along the way are a couple of obviously "meaningful" monologues that nearly derail the work, before we get to the action of the final third wherein the piece finds its footing.
Much is left out here in terms of character development by writer/director Taylor Sheridan but all is forgiven in that selfsame third. Renner too is clumsy for much of the piece, but by the end finds his way.
Another "give it a chance to work" work.
