Review of Winchester (2018) by Dale P — 12 Feb 2018

More and more I am leery of movies that say "based on actual events", such was the new movie Winchester. Basically for this film there is a Winchester house that has like a zillion rooms in it, there was a Winchester widow who believed in ghosts, and the house took on some damage at the same time of the great San Francisco earthquake.

So beyond that, the actual events are for you to decide. That being said, this film has some scares to it, but they are manufactured with some quick jumps and the like. While watching the film you sort of like it, and then feel like, man this could be better but I'm not so sure how.

I'll say this, if you are a gun owner, you might not like it because it makes a pretty clear anti gun statement. For scary movie fans, I'd say it is worth a rental or cheap matinee, otherwise you can skip it.
