Review of Win Win (2011) by Michael M — 21 Dec 2011
A stellar cast led by Paul Giamatti as a lawyer and wrestling coach who takes in an aging client whose grandson provides the real conflict of the piece. It's a charming, real-life film without cinematic pretensions which is wonderful, but also the film's downfall.
The narrative seems a bit unfocused and hum-drum. The film makers seem intent on keeping things 'down to earth' - which is why the emotions don't soar.
