Review of Win Win (2011) by Dann M — 18 Jan 2012
Win Win tells a most unusual story about family. When a down-and-out attorney takes guardianship of a client who's declared incompetent, he gets more than he bargains for. It takes a while for the story to get moving, but once it does it becomes quite a moving and entertaining one.
The cast is packed with comedic talent, including Paul Giamatti, Amy Ryan, Jeffrey Tambor, and Bobby Cannavale, which helps to lighten the dramatic themes of abandonment and surrogate family. Win Win is conventional in many ways, but it's done in a way that's refreshing.
