Review of Win Win (2011) by Vincent C — 02 Sep 2011
"Win Win" is a great film that features great acting and has a nice, heartwarming story. Paul Giamatti is brilliant, as usual, and he really carries the entire film. Alex Shaffer also does a decent job as the troubled teenage kid who is actually an extraordinary wrestler.
The story is rather simple but it's engaging. It never gets boring and it moves a steady pace. The film ultimately succeeds because it works as a drama and a comedy blended into one. I know that isn't unusual or uncommon for a film to blend the two genres together, but so many films simply cannot pull it off, and "Win Win" does exactly that.
In what has been a rather luck luster year so far "Win Win" clearly stands out as one of the better films of the year so.
