Review of Willy's Wonderland (2021) by Kuehnau — 14 Feb 2021
Willy's Wonderland is a R-Rated film, in which Nicolas Cage is hired to clean an old restaurant, which also happens to be filled with possessed animatronics of murderers. As far as horror films goes, this is just fine. There's some funny moments and enough violence to keep gore hounds happy.
I watched it because I enjoyed the FNAF franchise and enjoyed it very much. Let's be real, we were never going to get an R-Rated FNAF movie. My Mother also enjoyed it and she isn't even aware of the franchise it is parodying.
Is there problems with the writing? Sure, of course there are. But if you just go in for a fun, mindless, grindhourse horror inspired by the Five Nights At Freddy's franchise and just sit back and enjoy it, it's fine. A lot of times I feel like people who don't enjoy movies like this were never the intended audience to begin with.
