Review of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) by Russell Q — 12 Jan 2015
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a beloved movie for all ages. Everything in this movie is great.
The story tells about Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder), a candy manufacturer who sets up a contest to where he hides five five golden tickets inside five regular Wonka bars where whoever finds these tickets will get a free tour of his factory, and a lifetime supply of candy. One of the kids, Charlie Bucket (Peter Ostrum), a young boy who loves Willy Wonka takes the trip with his grandpa (Jack Albertson). Charlie and his grandpa are stuck with the four other kids, who are nasty and end up getting punished by Wonka.
The art direction, songs, music, and acting are all great in this beloved family classic. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory has the same pure imagination like The Wizard of Oz, which makes this a masterpiece!
