Review of Wild Strawberries (2012) by Anastasia B — 01 Jan 2011
What an excellent contemplation on the meaning of love, life, death and loneliness or the torment in the relationships between spouces / family members in general. The ride with Professor Isak Borg (a wonderful Victor Sjostrom) is an emotional rollercoaster, pleasant at times, at times strange, grand, torturing and provocative, but in any case, insightful and intriguing at the same time, like every film of Bergman's who manages to make cinema that is vivid, true and resonant almost every single time.
Brilliant.
