Review of Wild Orchid (1989) by Grant S — 13 May 2010
Saw this 20 years ago and thought it was pretty lame. Watched it again today and its even worse. Plot is fairly nonexistent and what there is is contrived, pretentious and unrealistic.
The acting could not have been worse. It's amazing that Mickey Rourke's career survived after this piece of crap. (Thankfully, it did, as his performance in The Wrestler was brilliant). Clearly Jacqueline Bisset's career was on the wane, and she was thus desperate for any sort of role, for her to agree to appear in this.
Avoid.
