Review of Wild at Heart (1990) by Elliot G — 06 Apr 2008
Lynch populates the world with some of his most twisted characters, and the lead performances are both really great, especially Laura Dern, as always. He's trying to craft a fable of violence, love, and sex, and until the end of the third act it works, but the whole 'Love Me Tender'/Good Witch sequences feels really forced and from a different movie.
It's still Lynch, though. Diane Ladd gives one of the best scary/funny performances ever.
