Review of Wild at Heart (1990) by Jonathan A — 22 Jun 2008
David Lynch tries his hand at exploitation with this tale of two lovers on the runaway from the other's mother and some mobsters. Loud, violent, hyper-sexualized, and pretty weird to boot. However, that's what makes this all the more appealing.
I especially dug Lynch's use of heavy rock music during the more hardcore scenes. Sometimes the film veers into absurdity, but the acting and direction are fantastic nonetheless as well as the film's tightly written script.
