Review of Wild at Heart (1990) by Chase V — 12 Aug 2008
I absolutely despise David Lynch, as I do with all people who I suspect are going out of their way to waste my time. This time he at least gives me a plot, but the hamfisted acting and cheap shots of tears rolling down cheeks is simply too much. It's like a John Waters film that takes itself seriously. Or maybe like Napoleon Dynamite without any jokes.
One thing though, the soundtrack is amazing. I've never heard a better mix of blues, rockabilly and speed metal, and don't think I ever will again. It was like Tarantino good. That got it 5 stars, which really pulled it up from my original rating of -4 stars.
