Review of Wild at Heart (1990) by Arianeta L — 15 Dec 2009
A great director David Lynch explores one old theme: the love story of two people (Cage and Dern) who truly love each other, of two people whose love seems so strong that nothing can corrupt it. But the evil forces of murder, corruption and perversion, which lurk beneath the seemingly clean surface of modern day America, transform their journey into a ghost train ride and challenge their love to the extremes.
Lynch has a knack for heightened reality that keeps us attuned to the pleasures of the unexpected. "This whole world is weird on top and wild at heart," says Lula. And who better to chart such a world than David Lynch? Even over the rainbow, he finds his own kind of truth.
