Review of Wild (2014) by Kim B — 15 Jan 2016
I liked it. I was surprised witherspoon took on such an unglamorous role. The first half was kinda vague and all over the place with flashbacks and it was starting to annoy me. Finally u start to get more of the backdrop as it progresses.
Still some holes are in the plot and I wish it had gone more in depth, but u get most of it. The movie was more a short look back into her dramatic points in her life with the traveling lessons and therapy than a whole biopic like I expected.
Narratively it felt a bit lacking in regards to her past. It kept me interested though not knowing what would happen to her next on her trail. I really think her mom protected her on the trail bc she met a lot of helpful ppl and amazingly never hurt by the journey or ppl.
What a great tough journey this woman went on and accomplished.
