Review of Wild (2014) by Sebastian O — 24 Jan 2015

I give this film a "fresh" review, simply because I'm acknowledging the film's above-average cinematography and Witherspoon's acting. That being said, I gave "Wild" the lowest possible "fresh" rating, as I wasn't very entertained, and found myself thinking about things other than the film while I was watching it.

There were a few moments that were touching, and it had some humour, but outside of those occasional scenes, Vallée's film was little more than walking and flashbacks, and I honestly preferred the walking to the flashbacks.

If the film was cut down to an hour and 20 minutes, featuring a quarter of the amount of flashbacks, I would probably have enjoyed "Wild" much more than I did.
