Review of Wicked Little Things (2006) by Sv G — 25 Sep 2009
Despite an interesting premise that mixes the ghost story and the zombie tale together, this suffers badly from an underdeveloped and cliched script, and a muddled approach.
It's a shame, as - despite the obviously limited budget and cheap-looking film stock - this is a good looking film, at times quite beautiful; the misty nighttime shots of the woods and the summer/autumn colours of the day are extremely well captured and work well with the creatively designed sets and locations. And, despite, having little to work with, the cast all do a creditable job.
Sadly, this fails on the script, which should be the starting block, but here isn't really in any sort of good shape, which makes all the good work bringing it to the screen rather a waste of time and talent.
