Review of Why Him? (2016) by Jody H — 26 Dec 2016
Horrid facsimile of a comedy and a compelling case for not making a movie. Released at Christmas to snooker desperate viewers, and will fall off the maps soon, but not soon enough. Franco is a billionaire millenial and Cranston plays a worn-out 55 year old midwestern father.
Unfunny in every way. My thought when I left was comedies don't get foreign receipts because the form's not translatable, and so comedy in film is largely dead. This one's not only DOA, it was stillborn.
