Review of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966) by Scott W — 20 Sep 2008
At times hilarious and moving, at others harrowing and annoying, the sheer range of human character in the face of shattered dreams. The movie pits a rather dysfunctional after-party and a series of "games", each delving deeper and deeper into the "private" part of each person's soul.
The ending is downright crushing. For the acting, 5 stars--outright tremendous. For the movie as a whole, including "entertainment" value...4.
